So delicious! Came here for our anniversary dinner and they have so many selections of marinated meats, veggies, fruit, brown& white rice, miso soup, curry, gyoza, and more! I loved their imported orange soda, it was delicious! Cory was a great waiter, overall worth the price! I’m stuffed!

Umami Japanese Barbeque offers a delightful all-you-can-eat buffet experience where you become the chef at your own table. The selection of meats, including Ribeye, NY Strip, and Wagyu beef, is a carnivore's dream. The interactive grilling experience adds a fun element to the dining, and the variety of sides complements the meats perfectly. It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy delicious food while engaging in great conversations. Just be prepared for the temptation to overindulge – I practically needed assistance leaving due to the irresistible offerings!

This is the first Japanese Grill I've been to. I've got a friend who works here and recommended it to me. The layout is a split floor which is pretty cool. The booth I sat at was a little short on legroom, but it's not too bad. They've got an unlimited refill on drinks (non-alcoholic) which is pretty cool. It's got a great variety of seasoned meats and a ton of delicious sides too. I love the potatoe salad and edamame! I also liked the curry they had - it went well with the white rice they brought me. As for the meats, my favorite might have to be the Japanese short ribs - well seasoned and pairs well with the sauces at every table. My server was really nice too! For dessert, the mochi ice cream is a pretty refreshing, especially after all that grilled meat.

Buffet style Japanese BBQ. Table for two tonight. We enjoyed being seated right away without a reservation on a Friday night! We believe this was due to the business having very prompt table service, a buffet that is stocked adequately, and guests getting full quickly. We enjoyed the Wagyu beef, pork bully BBQ in the sesame dipping sauce. The potstickers, dumplings and rice are also very good! To finish the meal, we roasted some pineapple slices. Out the other three Korean/Japanese BBQ places we've tried locally, this is our favorite! The service/check push button on the table was a very nice feature.

We loved our experience here. We picked a perfect time, 3:45 pm for our meal. The timing allows for lunch rates, but access to the “dinner” premium meats that come out at 4:00 pm. Lots of meat options. All the food we had was fresh. Cooking the meat at our own table allowed for the perfect cook every time. Two to a table allowed for the right amount of cooking to eating. Any more than that at the table and the food would be a little slower on per person basis. Loves the sauces at the table and the dishes to hold them. Great experience all around.

This place has definitely an experience with it. The food is very good! And if your a carnivore who eats animals as his favorite food like me then they have plenty here! My favorite is the cow meats they have! But the pigs and chickens are so good too! The grills at tables make it really fun especially with other people. It’s kinda expensive but when I think about it, it’s the same price as eating two fast food combo meals! I have only eaten here during dinner! It’s one of my favorite restaurants honestly! Also if Chris is working tell him hi! I recommend Umami for the experience

From the moment you walk in, each entrée comes with a bowl of rice, and you can choose between regular or brown rice, which is a nice touch. Plus, I love that you can pick out your own cut of meat to cook! The ambiance is very pleasant, and the place is impeccably well-maintained. Unlike similar places, there’s no smoke or kitchen smell filling the restaurant, even with everyone cooking at their tables. This is a huge plus, making the experience much more comfortable. And to top it off, the customer service is outstanding. The staff is attentive, friendly, and truly makes you feel welcome. Definitely a place worth visiting.

This is THE PLACE. Brigham Young was talking about Umami. Seriously their meats are so delicious. My wife and I filled our trays with sauces but we didn’t even use them because the meats were seasoned SO well. Everything here is amazing. Even their Pepsi with a mango flavor add in. You will leave happy, full, and healed of mental illness

This is a perfect place for dinner and a movie. Located right outside the doors of a modern movie theater, Umami provides a conglomerate of cultural flavors under the title of Japanese BBQ. They offer what I recognize as a Korean BBQ setting, but with item that are chosen by the consumer from an open buffet. Most of the large selection of meats are pre-seasoned or marinated, so there's no need to add salt or pepper while you cook them at your table. Consequently, if the food doesn't taste good its your own fault cause you're the one cooking it, which is an adventure all on its own. They had only one flavor of sushi rolls, but this was accompanied by kimchi, miso soup, cinnamon glazed pineapple, and a host of other choices. We used to go to a different Korean BBQ place in Orem, but we're going to come here from now on. The food tastes better, and there's a bigger selection. But be careful. If you do dinner and a movie, you won't have room left for popcorn and a drink at the theater. By the way, the staff were superb!

For $15 per person we had some really good steak and brisket and chicken and onions and mushrooms, it was great quality food and also the sushi was pretty good, and it was a vibe to get to cook it myself on the table
